Semua orang pastinya mengenal kata "Ujian Nasional", dan berbagai macam gambaran yang berbeda akan keluar dari benak masing-masing orang. Ujian Nasional adalah ujian yang menentukan apakah kita pantas untuk menduduki tingkat pendidikan yang lebih tinggi. Ujian ini sangat penting—jika kita gagal dalam ujian ini maka sia-sialah pendidikan yang kita telah konsumsi selama 3 tahun. Ujian nasional telah menuai banyak dukungan dan kontroversi. Banyak orang yang berpendapat bahwa ujian nasional dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan sehingga dapat menghasilkan sumber daya manusia yang bermutu. Namun, tak sedikit yang menolak dengan alasan betapa tidak adilnya jika pendidikan yang telah diajarkan selama 3 tahun akan ditentukan keberhasilannya hanya dalam beberapa lembar kertas soal. Because of the Thanksgiving break, it seems to be a while ago since I¡¯ve been at Gettysburg Senior Center. When I arrived at Gettysburg Senior Center, many seniors greeted me by saying, ¡°We haven¡¯t seen you for a long time. How are you?¡± It made me feel very warm because their question means that they still remember me. When I played cards with Chris and Bob, I overheard a lady at another table say, ¡°That young lady is over there. Where is Luke? ¡± Luke is a sophomore who used to go to Gettysburg Senior Center on Tuesday around 10am and helped the staff there prepare lunch for seniors. This reminds me that the first day when I went there, Chris told me that a girl from Nepal used to go there. It¡¯s now almost the end of the semester and how many classes we will still have for our first year seminar is now countable. Everything is going to its end, all the papers, various small assignments and the placement for our class requirement. Less than 3 weeks left for this semester and... (more)
